Description

Psychologists and psychotherapists associated in the Polish Association for EMDR Therapy work in the EMDR approach, integrating with other methods of therapeutic work. Therapists work with patients in different age groups, conducting individual and group therapy. Moreover, they constantly improve their qualifications by participating in national and international supervision and training. 70 people belong to the group of EMDR crisis interveners.

Description

Trainers of psychologists and psychotherapists (EMDR consultants) are accredited by EMDR Europe and provide specialist training on various psychological problems. The Association also includes people working at universities, educating psychologists and psychotherapists, as well as people conducting training for psychologists and psychotherapists organized by various, also non-university, institutions.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION

The Polish Association for EMDR Therapy brings together psychotherapists working in the EMDR approach. The aims of the association are:
• developing and disseminating theoretical and practical knowledge on therapy in the EMDR approach
• establishing, maintaining, promoting and adhering to the highest standards of quality and integrity in clinical practice
• EMDR research and training in cooperation with EMDR Europe, EMDRIA and other European countries
• integration of the community of EMDR therapists and creating conditions for their continuous professional development
• health education, promotion and protection of health, including in particular mental health, taking into account the scientifically proven effectiveness of various activities in the EMDR approach;
• achieving the status of a reference point in Poland for EMDR therapy.
The Polish Association for EMDR Therapy conducts activities in the field of early psychological intervention.
